115 Couples Tie The Knot In A University Group Wedding
No fewer than 115 couples were married in one enormous ceremony at Nanjing University in China yesterday to celebrate the 115th anniversary of the institution.
The sea of white bridal dresses and mostly black-suited grooms comprised 57 alumni couples, 6 staff couples and 52 student pairs.
It was a sight for the sore eyes – from the men going down on one knee, to the ensuing romantic embrace.
The rites took place in a red-carpeted gymnasium in one of the university’s three campuses, in Jiangsu Province.
Founded in 1902, Nanjing University is one of the oldest and most prestigious seats of higher learning in China.
In 2016, the student population numbered 32,999, including 13,583 undergraduates, 10,865 master students, 5,335 doctoral students, and 3,216 full-time international students.
